A 17-foot 10-inch crocodile has been captured in Tawi-Tawi.
The fisherman who saw it said that he approached it thinking it was a very big wood log but then he was absolutely shocked when it moved. The saltwater beast was bigger than a car.
He reported it to the authorities right away and two other fishermen and everyone got ready to conduct a rescue operation for the crocodile.
While they were trying to save the massive reptile he reportedly wrecked a boat and damaged a fishing net. But after a lot of effort, they managed to rescue the gigantic creature and it’s now under the care of the municipal government.
They placed it in a seawater pond to simulate its natural habitat. In that region, they often find stranded crocs apparently.
Only a week prior to this incident they found another saltwater croc. This one measured 16 feet 11 inches. They still don’t know how they got there but if you ever visit Tawi-Tawi take a good hard look before you take a swim. Because crocodiles this size can easily eat you whole without chewing.

Wildlife officers have recently rescued a massive crocodile that was stuck in a city water canal in Sri Lanka.
The croc is believed to be the most gigantic one the island has ever seen before.
He has an estimated weight of one ton and a half and measuring 18 feet he certainly isn’t a small reptile.
They believe the croc got stuck and trapped in the city water canal after he came up through the shore of the “Nilwala River” when it was searching for food.
Apparently, the local people saw the colossal animal when the water level of the canal arose and they could see that the animal couldn’t get back out due to its enormous size.
It was a very difficult operation to dig the croc out. They had to involve several neighbors a JCB digger a tractor the local police and the department officials.
That’s how big this thing was. After they managed to get the croc to safety the principal chief conservator of forest decided to take the animal to the Nandankanan Zoo to provide it with shelter and to allow

03 – Jaws 3 Crocodile
The crocodile named jaws was one of four saltwater croc hatchlings imported from Singapore to the central leather research institute in madras back in 1970.
The plan was to keep them for five years to see if croc farming was a viable plan and then to slaughter all four crocodiles.
But in 1973 wild crocodiles were almost extinct and the madras snake park wanted to start breeding crocs to save the species.
They came to an agreement that the park would take care of the aggressive animals and at the same time give the yearly measurements to the leather institute.
That way everybody wins and the crocs don’t have to be massacred. But little did they know that our friend’s jaws were about to grow to a staggering 15 feet and were to become one of the most violent crocs in captivity in history.
Every single female they tried to introduce to his enclosure he would instantly attack and kill gruesomely. They tried several times over the years but without luck each time. They finally accepted the fact that jaws were going to be celibate for his entire life. So there will never belittle jaws running around sadly.

Did you know that crocodiles can live as long as we can?
Well, they do like the Pointe Noire croc for example.
He was one of the biggest crocodiles ever caught or seen. He was 21 feet long and weighed 4,500 pounds and he was believed to have been over 80 years old.
He was found in the republic of congo. He was so incredibly massive and unmanageable he had to be shot down by the army itself. Imagine living in a country where the army’s there not only to protect the country but to take down colossal prehistoric beasts.
It was believed that the croc was looking to eat human beings because it was simply too old to be able to hunt other more challenging prey.
Yeah, that’s right we’re not a very difficult prey when we’re not armed or inside a vehicle no surprise there.
Although we’ll never know if the croc did manage to eat a person. They never released the contents of his stomach after the dissection. The animal was sent to a taxidermist to preserve it for the tourists to visit. Although apparently, the locals were a little bit disappointed because they would have rather eaten the thing to each his own I guess.
05 – Gomek the great Crocodile
Gomek the great might very well be the first croc celebrated in history and his story began in the jungles of New Guinea.
Possibly as far back as in the 1030s.
This reptile would have reached adulthood by the time World War II reached the shores of the island.
There aren’t any fantastic events in gomek life up until well into the 1960s when he became very well known amongst the natives of the Fly River.
And there were three important reasons that made him known.
First of all, he was incredibly dark almost black in color which in itself is extremely rare for a crocodile.
The second reason is that he was unusually large and the third reason and probably the most important is that he developed a taste for human flesh.
For the locals he wasn’t just a crocodile he was Loma meaning he was possessed by an evil spirit.
Eventually, he was caught by an Australian crocodile hunter by putting a harpoon to his back just like a moby dick. He finally ended up in a zoo in Australia where he kept growing and growing.
At the age of 80 years old he reached an impressive 17 and a half feet long. He sadly passed away in 1997 of a heart attack but you can still see him because his body was stuffed and preserved.
